The director of the South African School of Yoga – Swami Kamalavidya Saraswati encourages a yogic lifestyle of living well and being spontaneously joyous and happy. Kamalavidya personally teaches her students to get in touch with themselves and taking responsibility of caring holistically for the body, mind, emotions and spirit. She says each of the components must be healthy for you as a whole person to be healthy, and encourages eliminating the lifestyle choices that result in poor health. She continues to say that the yogic philosophy is simple –------ it is a willingness to acknowledge that the most important factor in your life is YOU. An out of balance body is the result of lifestyle choices e.g. overeating, under eating, not exercising, worrying about too many things which brings on an imbalance in your whole body health. Unfortunately this results in disorders such as lack of energy or stamina, insomnia, chronic pain, stress, depression and the list is endless. This all contributes to a negative attitude towards life and dysfunctional relationships. It becomes such a negative and vicious cycle.
